Baton rouge, la, march 30, 2009:
On Monday, Baton Rouge
consulting firm, Sable International, hosted a group of students who
traveled from Portland, Oregon to Baton Rouge to tour the campus and
facilities of Southern University. The Prospective Gents Club
(PGC) members are spending their Spring Break in Louisiana with their
group's founder and mentor Kevin Fuller who currently serves as the
Executive Director of Baton Rouge's Academic Distinction Fund. PGC
is comprised of a group of African-American, high school seniors from
the Portland area. PGC is an outstanding group of young men known
for displaying excellence in speech, character, integrity, brotherhood,
and decision making.
Sable International arranged a tour and hosted a luncheon for the young
men on the campus of Southern University. Chancellor Kofi Lomotey
and Dr. Michael Stubblefield, Vice Chancellor of the Office of Research
and Strategic Initiatives, were in attendance, as well as the Sable
International managing partners, James Gilmore, Jr., Isaiah Marshall,
III, Eric B. Lewis, and Anita M. Tillman. Also in attendance
was Sidni Lloyd-Shorter of Nerjyzed Entertainment, the Baton Rouge
corporation that created the Black College Football Experience video
game (BCFx).
Sable capped off the day by touring the Nerjyzed design studios with the
students, where they were introduced to CEO, Jackie Beauchamp and
lead-designer Brian Jackson and received a behind-the-scenes tour of how
video games are made.
